Which President are you?

Filed under: Mindless BanterJeremy @ 8:48:06 PM

I’m usually not a big fan of these “Which “X” are you?” quizes, but Sarge did a bunch on his site.

I was pleased with my results:

Cause he has an Aircraft Carrier named after him:

Daylight Savings Time

Its about time the rest of you folks changed your clocks.

In case you forgot, Sunday Morning you were suppoesed to change your clocks for Daylight Saving Time.

Arizona, is one of the states which doesn’t participate in this silly ritual.

So now, I’m back to Pacific Time.
(Which of course means that all the cable channels are now offset by an hour from last week.)

See what I have to do for you people, so you can save “daylight”?

Beliefs, Proofs, and other Spam

A few days ago, JeremyGilby.com received this e-mail from a disgruntled fan. From the content it was made in regards to the following post made on November 10, 2002.

    Dear Jeremy,
I have read the conclusions that you posted on your website, obviously you have some more research to do (a lot more). You have failed to separate the wheat from the chaff. Everyone knows that the web has plenty of garbage on it. Unfortunately, your site should be added to the refuse pile. If you would like a real, point by point education about this topic let me know. As far as badastronomy.com is concerned,it is a bad website mixed with some truth. While some people might speculate as to the existence of planet x, for anyone to say it does not exist at all is not a provable argument either. In fact there is evidence affirming the presence of one or more sizeable celestial objects exerting their influence on our solar system, from credible scientists across a wide variety of disciplines. In closing I would ask you this:
Were humans created or did we evolve on our own? Your answer will tell me alot. Just make sure your answer is provable whatever it is.

Sincerely,
Either and Or

FINALLY!

The boys and girls at Opera have done it again.

They released Opera 7.10, but the BEST part is the fact they released 7.10 for Windows and Linux!

This is the first time (since I’ve been using Opera) that their WIndows and Linux Browsers were released at the same time.

(I’ve been waiting for Opera 7 for awhile.)

Now its here.

Things are getting exciting in my little geek-o-sphere.

Book Review: Clear and Present Danger

Filed under: Books,ReviewsJeremy @ 11:52:31 AM Tags:

You might be noticing, I’m going backwards in this Tom Clancy series.

When talking about Tom Clancy novels (especially the Jack Ryan/John Clark series) there are two orders to follow:
The Publish Order:

  1. The Hunt for Red October
  2. Patriot Games
  3. The Cardinal of the Kremlin
  4. Clear and Present Danger
  5. The Sum of All Fears
  6. Without Remorse
  7. Debt of Honor
  8. Executive Orders
  9. Rainbow Six
  10. The Bear and the Dragon
  11. Red Rabbit

and the Chronological Order

  1. Without Remorse
  2. Patriot Games
  3. Red Rabbit
  4. The Hunt for Red October
  5. The Cardinal of the Kremlin
  6. Clear and Present Danger
  7. The Sum of All Fears
  8. Debt of Honor
  9. Executive Orders
  10. Rainbow Six
  11. The Bear and The Dragon

I started with Debt of Honor. (DOH)
Followed that with Without Remorse (WR)
Followed closely by Executive Orders (XO)
Picked up Cardinal of the Kremlin (CotK)
Then Read Rainbow Six (R6)
Followed Closely by The Bear and the Dragon (BatD)
Now, I’ve finished Clear and Present Danger (CAPD) (Pronounced “Cap-Dee”)

Ill

Filed under: PersonalJeremy @ 10:29:34 PM

Well, I guess its time for my once-a-year disease.

Whatever this thing was, it hit me over the weekend. At first I thought it was alergies (Pollen counts are super high right now in the desert.)

But when the sore throat would not go away, I was concerned.

Then the fever and the headaches came.

Yeah, its official.

I’m sick.

Movie Review: Drumline

In my illness induced delerium, I watched one of my rented movies from Netflix, Drumline

I was attracted to this movie because not only did I spend 5 years of my life in Marching Band, but one of those years was as a Drum Major/Drill Instructor. Tack on almost 20 years of playing the Tenor Sax, it was something I wanted to see.

The major turn off of this movie was the previews. I figured it was going to be this livatious sensual flick with little attention to the phenomenon of Marching Bands, let alone a Drumline.

I’ll admit it, I was wrong.

Movie Review: The Enforcer

Tonight, my Dirty Harry marathon continued.

Wow, do I like this guy.

I first watched Dirty Harry a few weeks ago. And I was impressed. So much I gave the movie 5 out of 5 stars.

About a week ago, I followed that with Magnum Force. I was not impressed, and severely disappointed. It only scored 3 stars.

Tonight, I took on The Enforcer. My faith in the series was renewed.

Adventures In Cooking

Easter Sunday: 2003

As per usual, my friend Kirk, and his wife Regina, hosted Easter Dinner at their house.

The nice thing about these events, for those of you who might not know, this is one of the ways my church, and my circle of friends, minister to our greater circle of friends, around the holidays. Specifically those, who just don’t have the ability to “go home” for events like Thanksgiving and Easter. Every year it is a touching time, especially with all the food around. And as always, its lots of fun.

Regina made a wonderful ham, and I was blessed with the task of bringing the second main entree.

Kirk suggested something Pork related.

Lament: On a 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier

Today, I signed away my 1991 Cavalier.

You might remember, I’ve recently acquired a 1998 Buick Regal, so I don’t require a second car.

However, that did not make this an easy transaction.

So please forgive me, if I take this time to recant my fond memories of my third car.
