And in Houston Texas, two titans clashed in what would be later called Super Bowl 2004 [or Thirty Eight]. Two teams enter, one team leaves victorious; and one team leaves like everyone else in the N-F-L, a loser. The New England Patriots, named after the heroic Patriot Missile [not really] which caused so much vengeful destruction [O.K. not really] wreaked there defensive havock on the Juggernaught of the Carolina Panthers. A team so enigmatic, no one knows what state they are actually from. Its is North Carolina, or South Carolina. The mystery is too much to think about between commercial breaks.
[/End Cosell-esque commentary]
Okay, joking aside, Super Bowl XXXVIII was pretty cool to watch. It was not the usual marketing blitz that previous super bowls were (Or did I miss the expensive commercials?). And of course I’m speaking of the game, not the halftime orgy, or the endless survivor ads. No, I came to the TV to watch some football, and some football I saw.

THE HAGUE, THE NEATHERLANDS: Today, Saddam Hussein announced his endorsement of Democratic Presidential Candidate Howard Dean. He told his translators as he was ending his latest day of interrogations, “Howard Dean is my choice for the White House in 2004″ thanks to the support that Hussein himself received from the Dean Campaign’s denouncement of his capture and incarceration.

I’ve been thinking a lot about why I geared the way I am, politically. Why did I go down the conservative path, rather then the liberal path (Like a lot of my peers, my age)?
I think back and I can remember Seven Presidential Elections. And the first one I remember had the most impact on my political thought. There were also several circumstances which helped my young mind to focus on things political.
So its story time!

I’ve tried to illustrate this particular political correctness idiocy, but Best of the Web does a great job of it, with some great political examples:
The thesis of this statement: Teresa Heinz Kerry is in fact an African American.

I do not envy the Central Intelligence Agency.
Think about it, what other organization is asked for so much, rewarded for so little, and berated for every mistake they ever make? (With little, or no, resources to start with?) That is not an environment I’d want to find myself in.
I’ve often said that the office of the Director of Central Intelligence is the third most powerful man in the world. Third only to The President of the United States and the Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Currently, that office is held by George Tenet, and he’s under the gun of Congress because of some potential bad intelligence.
Bad intelligence?
What is Bad intelligence?
Mr. Tenet and his team started with NO intelligence in the case of Iraq and Saddam Hussein.
I’d like to see Congress, or anyone else for that matter, do better.
Note: This article is reprinted from an earlier website. The text has been changed to read from the first person
Who are the most powerful people in the world?
While this is an open ended question, I will limit this list with two parameters:
Over the weekend, after a very taxing time switching Web Providers, I’ve relaunched GeekBrigade-dot-com. Instead of focusing on the “Geek House” aspect, I’ve torqued the theme around to suggest more of a web community (Cubicle Jungles and the like).
And per Stinkin’ Rick’s insistent pressing, I’ve added a Forum.
Where and how this site will go is still in the air.
We will see

As most of my readers know, I’m quite savvy on the art of personality classification. (Along the same lines, I also like to know how people think.) And I have talked about these points many times.
I was reading Peggy Noonan’s Article today on the subject of The President’s appreance on “Meet the Depressed”.
I won’t go into the partisan tripe that people are bantering about (Bush is an idiot, Russert was unfair, blah blah blah). But Noonan said something that caught my attention, and it was on the subject of something I call Political Dyniamics.

I saw this article this morning on h-t-t-p colon forward-slash forward-slash slash-dot-dot-org.
“According to The Economist: ‘It was beautiful, complex and wrong. In 150AD, Ptolemy of Alexandria published his theory of epicycles–the idea that the moon, the sun and the planets moved in circles which were moving in circles which were moving in circles around the Earth. This theory explained the motion of celestial objects to an astonishing degree of precision. It was, however, what computer programmars call a kludge: a dirty, inelegant solution. Some 1,500 years later, Johannes Kepler, a German astronomer, replaced the whole complex edifice with three simple laws. Some people think modern astronomy is based on a kludge similar to Ptolemy’s. At the moment, the received wisdom is that the obvious stuff in the universe–stars, planets, gas clouds and so on–is actually only 4% of its total content. About another quarter is so-called cold, dark matter, which is made of different particles from the familiar sort of matter, and can interact with the latter only via gravity. The remaining 70% is even stranger. It is known as dark energy, and acts to push the universe apart. However, the existence of cold, dark matter and dark energy has to be inferred from their effects on the visible, familiar stuff. If something else is actually causing those effects, the whole theoretical edifice would come crashing down.‘”Does this sound familiar? Hint.
Things fall apart.

Whilst trolling on h-t-t-p colon forward-slash forward-slash slash-dot-dot-org, I came across This Article on useless meetings, and I saw a link to another interesting article.
Stop reading right now. Look at your desktop. How many tasks are you working besides reading this weblog? More than 10? You’ve got N.A.D.D.
Well, I would call it G.A.D.D. (as I take offense to the word “nerd”) but alas, as I look to my taskbar(s), I’m saddened at the result:

So what is this foolish holiday?
Some say its George Washington’s Birthday (underglorified), (Which is either the 11th or 22nd of February, you decide). Or its the amalgom of Washington AND Lincoln’s birthday (02/12).
History of President’s Day (stolen from Holiday.com.)
But isn’t this a day we should be having President’s Day sales in honor of ALL our Presidents?

One of the major planks in the Democratic Presidential Platform is this myth that 2.6 million jobs were lost last year, because of the Bush Administration.
First of all, what a statement to make. Because of Bush, you were fired, laid off, or outperformed by new technology, or cheaper labor. Yeah, right.
Second, that number is only counting existing business from the start of January 2003. THE COUNT DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY NEW BUSINESSES FOUNDED IN 2003. (Did you get that? So if person A leaves a company and JOINS with a new busness, that is considered a lost job. Even though the person is working and NOT collecting unemployment.)
So what is the Unemployment rate doing? No one seems to talk about that metric, only this “Magic” number of 2.6 million jobs.
I point you to Exhibit A: The forcast of the unemployment rate, by forcast.org
And Exhibit B: The Department of Labor’s analysis on the State of Employment in the United States for January.
And Exhibit C: The actual Department of Labor numbers for each year over time.

When I saw this website featured in Meet The Depressed, I was slightly angered at the philosophy they were trying to convey:
Ralph-Dont-Run-dot-net (Hyptertext left out to not encourage additional visits)
The site is just a long flash intro describing the 2000 Presidential Election (Transcript Below) so you only need to read this article to know what they say.
But I find it ironic that the people who don’t want Ralph Nader to run in 2004 are the same people who cried about the criminal unfairness of the Florida Election.
