You may recall my Previous Post regarding the Wall Street Journal’s Presidential Rankings. After learning more about this, I picked up my own copy of the book, Presidential Leadership: Rating the Best and the Worst in the White House. And it is a good read.
On top of the interesting way they compiled this list, they also include pithy biographies of each of the 42 presidents from Washington to George W. Bush. Its a great Cliff’s Notes version of American History, displaying how and why each president was great, or not-so-great.

I know I talk about the Fourth of July more often then any other holiday, but there is a reason for it. It is a revolutionary holiday, and there is no pun intended.

I’m not a gambling man, by trade, nor am I a good “Bluffer”, at least, I don’t think I am.
Well, this holiday week, I got sucked into watching something that I’d never thought I’d get yanked into:
The United Nations is declaring “war” on Spam.
Well, maybe not.
I saw this article on h-t-t-p-colon forward-slash forward-slash slash-dot-dot-org, refrencing this article on The AOL News Network.
So its the “Moral Authority” of the United Nations versus the “Bottom-Dwelling” nature of Spammers.
So I’m in a “quagmire”.
I don’t know who to root for.

I went to the used book store yesterday to get rid of some of my old College Texts, and some books that I’ve never read and never planned on reading. In the effort, I picked up 2 others, which I’ve eagerly added to my plans for Summer Reading.
I love a good book, especially in the Summer.

Its a little late, but blame the holiday, not me.
For those who came in late, these are the top 20 search strings used to find Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com via the various Search Engines around the World Wide Web.
And disturbingly, there are still a lot of MSN results…
Aside: A LOT Of you people are still looking for Real Men of Genius whatever… can you guys just turn the page and get on with your lives? Those commercials are SO OLD now.

“The Colonel” is still in the news, in this Opinion Journal Feature Article (Need Free Subscription, or wait until tomorrow).
Seems like while the Colonel has reduced his terrorism abroad, he is still quite the bad-guy at home.
And the U.N. in all its “Moral Authority”, isn’t happy.
Go figure.

Matt had posted about his obvservations of a certain flower store near our house with some rather inflamatory comments about President Bush. One of the slogans he used as a mantra for awhile caught my attention:
I’ve only been in the office for an hour, and I’ve already got my support team laughing.

This has been floating around the Internet, so I’d put my own little spin on it:
Read this like you would watching the Simpsons:
Quite a few of you have been curious as to what I’ve got “on deck” or “in progress” in the reading department.
So, I put together this Dynamic database page for your curiousity:
It also has a link to the database of completed books that I’ve enjoied (or not enjoied).

Knowing the movie was not directly from the book, I still enjoied this quite a lot.

Okay, I don’t like cell phones. I don’t like them at all.
I often joke about the day when I actually have to get one, and then the rapture will come. (I’m that extreme.)
Well, I saw this flash report on Drudge regarding the Feds are looking into an “Emergency Only” policy towards cell phone use while driving.
I’m all for it.

According to “The Governor”, Mr. Schwarzenegger, Called Special Interest Democrats “Girlie Men”
If they don’t have the guts to come up here in front of you and say, “I don’t want to represent you, I want to represent those special interests, the unions, the trial lawyers …” if they don’t have the guts, I call them girlie men,…
Of course, this is in reference to Democratic legislators who refuse to go along with his spending cuts.
I love it!

I saw this on Drudge this morning:
This is an election year, and I think we’re in desperate trouble and it’s time for people to speak up and not pipe down. It’s a real conflict for me when I go to a concert and find out somebody in the audience is a Republican or fundamental Christian. It can cloud my enjoyment. I’d rather not know.
So the left-wing pundints DO support “Don’t-Ask Don’t-Tell”?

Last night, for about 3 hours, I recorded 6 tracks for a CD that the Band is planning to cut in the semi-near future. As the band is 16 peices/vocals; this track-by-track process is not easy to do.
And I learned an important lesson about playing the saxophone.
You have to really pay attention to your breathing.

From Best of the Web Today: On Location at the Democratic National Circus in Boston.
We board the T and head for the Haymarket station, the closest the trains run to the Fleet Center. But the train ends one station early, and rather than mess with a transfer, we decide to get off and hoof it. Outside the station perhaps a dozen people have gathered to hear members of the Socialist Party USA hold forth.
