Here is my last report on the subject. All states have a color of blue or red, there is no yellow.
Now I will shut up on this subject and we will let history be written.

I should have known was to be expected this fateful day. With all the news, hype, and legal threats, it would not be just a day at the beach. (I really should have expected that, since I live in the desert, cause there is no water. Therefore, no beach; therefore it wouldn’t be a day at the beach.)
As you can see, my expectations were really way off already.

I’m writing this as George W. Bush enjoyes 269 unofficial Electoral Votes, and we’re waiting on two things:
- Nevada, Iowa, or New Mexico to put the final push to a Bush Victory.
- A Kerry/Edwards concession speach.
However, both campaigns are tacitly saying the same thing: Bush Wins.

I promise to… Support the President, even if I didn’t vote for him….. Criticize the President, even if I did vote for him….. Uphold standards of civilized discourse in blogs and in media while pushing both to be better…. Unite as a nation, putting country over party, as we work together to make America better.
From the "Picking-up-the-peices" Department
I remember the first election I voted in 12 years ago, I went into the election confident that my choice for President would reclaim his seat; but alas it was not the case.
I was angry.
I was upset.
I was mad at a nation who could elect Bill Clinton to be the Commander in Chief.
I’m listening to C-Span’s webcast before Kerry’s Concession Speech, and they are taking calls from people all over the nation.
Its depressing, but it reminds me of some of what I felt 12 years ago, and 4 years after that.

The Modernist Papers
There have been questions of the validity of the Electoral College system over the past five years. Is it still a valid means to elect our Chief Executive? Is it outdated? Does it subvert the popular vote too much?
To answer these questions, one needs to review WHY there is such a thing as the seemingly enigmatic Electoral College Process, to do that, we turn to Alexander Hamilton’s Federalist No. 68.

It seems Major Media does not want to publish the final results of the Presidential Election:
(Granted, I’m making the very-safe assumption that New Mexico and Iowa are going to George W. Bush.)
However, I think this result (which will go into History Textbooks everywhere) is important to note:

Is it me, or when you hear people describe your politics, or philosophy as “stupid” or “ignorant”, you secretly feel as if you somehow know something they don’t?
I’ve been thinking that alot (before and after the election of 2004).
Everytime I hear a talking head (or non-talking head) describe me as stupid, I think to myself. (They just don’t get it. They are rushing to judgement on something and they don’t really know WHY people disagree with them. – I know something they don’t.)

Here is a metric you might appreciate: The popular vote percentage difference between GWB2000 and GWB2004, state by state. You might be surprised at what I found.
I was perusing Electoral-Vote-dot-com, a noticably left-of-center site, which at least makes an attempt to reflect as moderate. For each state, it had the Bush/Kerry/Nader popular vote percentages, I also noticed it used the Bush/Gore numbers as a benchmark for tracking the 2004 pre-election polls. I noticed a rather entertaining trend.
Almost all the states had an INCREASE in the popular vote percentage for President George W. Bush.
Of all the States/Districts, only 2 showed a decrease, and 2 were just two close to make a comfortable call. So of the 51 entities, 47 had a popular increase for GWB.

Peggy Noonan had a great article, yesterday, in the Wall Street Journal’s Opinion-Journal. It was simply titled: Shhhhhh.
