Preserve Social Security Petition

From the "So-what-does-FICA-stand-for?" Department

Since I’m on the G.O.P. Spam list, I got an e-mail about an online petition on preservingsocialsecurity.com.

I’m more than for social security reform, and I dislike how the left moaned about the plight of social security 6 years ago, but resist the President’s changes.

So, yeah, I signed it. I suggest you all do too.
Let them (the Republicans and the Democrats) know how you really feel about the future of social security.

Yeah what? Did I just say that?

But check this out, when he went on Crossfire awhile back, he took the annoying and dorky Tucker Carlson (Never trust a guy with two last names) to SCHOOL.
So anyways, he was chatting with Author and former Clinton Aide Nancy Soderberg, and ended up exposing a subconscious Democratic stigma, AND debunking the author.

Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com Departments

Or, you may or may not have noticed the quirky Department names that appear under the meta-headings of most recent posts which appear on Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com.

Well, it shouldn’t be a secret that the Departments are just made up at the time of the post. Most are just second ideas for titles for individual posts. Others are just something unique and funny to a select few readers who might stumble by, others are inside jokes. Some are funny, others are not.

Or did you think that The Editors of Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com had endless resources in Page Generation, bureaucraticly delegated to hundreds of different departments of Pontifications and Mindless Banter?

Science and Religion

From the "...but-does-God-count-cards-in-Blackjack?" Department

“[Science and Religion's] differences are largely superficial, and…the two become almost indistinguishable if we look at the real nature of each.”

As a student of two physical sciences, and a Bible-believing Christian, I’ve often been asked if my belief are an oxymoron (from both the Science Community AND the Christian community). Questions of how I can believe these two schools of thought, or questions from one on the validity of the other.

These two articles inspired me to share some of my worldview on this subject: The 2005 Templeton Prize was awarded to Dr. Charles Townes. Towns is an iconoclast amoung the Science community, as his philosphy is that his Christian Religion and Science are inextricably linked.

Not having heard of Dr. Townes before, I find myself agreeing with his logic and philosphy.

Sylvia’s Scooters

Filed under: PersonalJeremy @ 5:24:15 PM

Last Year, you might remember, I shared the story of my mother, Sylvia, and her battle with Multiple Sclerosis, so many of you showed your support when you helped sponsor her and my family in their Walk for MS.

This year, my sister, G.B., is the team captain and she alerted me to the plans of “Sylvia’s Scooters” to take to the streets again to fight MS. And they need your support.

Sylvia’s Scooters

This is the 5th year for Sylvia’s Scooters to be participating in the Walk 4 MS. We are walking for my Mom, Sylvia. She is the cornerstone of our family. She is a mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend to many. Our team has been able to raise so much money to help fight this devastating disease and we have only been able to do that through our family and friends generosity. So thank you for helping a cause that is so important to us.

When I spoke about this last year, it was such a blessing to me and my family at the number of you who sponsored my Mom. MS is such a strange disease, its so intangible as it attacks the nervous system. And this is a great way to bless those crippled by this disease, and at the same time, encourage a great organization (The National Multiple Sclerosis Society) to seek out and find a cure.

So if you feel so inclined, please join me as I sponsor my Mom, Sylvia, in this mission, which my Dad has called our family’s cause. And since I’m 2500 miles away, I’m doing my part to help raise money for “our family’s cause”.

Or you can sponsor Dad, who, as you know, is Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com’s biggest fan!

Thank you
