Well, seems a lot happened in the world since I “went underground” on March 31.
- The United States celebrated National Athiests Day
- All ya’all decided to change your clocks again. I wish you people would make up your mind. (Arizona is still on Mountain Standard, as it was last week, and the week before that.)
- Pope John Paul II spoke his last word: “Amen”
- Yassir Arafat is still in Stable Condidtion after dying in a Paris Hospital.
- Lybian Terrorist and Dictator Muammar Abu Minyar al-Qadahfi is still a Colonel.
- AlGore is still not running for President
- The Grand Caynon is still there
- Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com is Still Good In China

NBC seems to be in an uproar over the “news” that Jimmy Carter is not going to Rome to pay respects to Pope John Paul II. My question: Who cares?
Its not like the Miserable Failure really fits in with the rest of the 3 executives that are part of the delegation.

Six days before Tax Freedom Day 2005, I finally got around to doing my 2004 tax return.
Now, some of you might find this amusing, especially if you know which particular Not-So-Small-Software-Organization I’m employed by, and the particular brandname of software they produce, which I get a complimentary copy of.

Okay, so I wasted a ton of time with these new Google Satelite Maps.
But I found an interesting curiousity.

With my schedule and TV-taste the way it is, at present I’m really only watching ONE Television program a week.
Up until last week, that show was the new Battlestar Galactica.
Its sad, too, that I have to subscribe to Digital Cable to watch one program on one channel. *shakes head ruefully*
But, its so worth it!

Long time readers of Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com know of my curiousity towards the Civil War. Especially after reading April 1865: The Month That Saved America.
On this day, in history, 140 years ago, General Lee finallized the surrender to General Grant, issueing General Order #9.
And the world would never be the same again.

It always seems to happen, especially in large organizations like a cubicle jungle, there erupts a faction which wants to fix a problem that doesn’t exist.
I like to call this trap: A Ghost Hunt

Did you know that The haughty french-looking Massachusetts Democrat, who by-the-way also served in Vietnam was also a satirist?
Neither did anyone else, but we’ve also found out he’s unoriginal.

The Good News: Today is April 15th, 2005. The Day your 2004 Taxes are due.
The Bad News: You are still not done paying your 2005 Taxes.
Why? Because Tax Freedom Day is not until April 17.

Some of you have E-mailed me regarding the fact that Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com was truncated. (I see that Internet Explorer doesn’t quite like my brand of Cascading Style Sheets… switch to Mozilla.)
I think I resolved the issue.
Take another look and see if the issue still persists
Thank you for your patience.

This is probably Old News, but a co-worker showed me this article on FoxSports today:
“Monday Night Football,” a television institution that over 35 years has helped transform the NFL into a prime-time ratings draw, is leaving ABC and moving to ESPN beginning with the 2006 season.
If you ask me, I think this is a bad idea.

The Catholic Church can elect a Pope from a pool of 115 Cardinals; but the U.S. Senate can’t decide on an Ambassador to the U.N. from a candidate pool of John Bolton.

Have you recently lost the N.F.C. Championship?
Have you contracted a “questionable” disease, and you need to secretly get tested?
Are you named Michael Vick (or Ron Mexico?)

Yeah, its a Martini
Yeah, I had to go into the cubicle jungle today to put out a “fire” (It was one of *those* phone calls Stinkin Rick.)
But at least I get to try out my new Martini Glasses.
Now I’m lounging in style!
