Please accept the most sincerest apologies from The Editors of Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com. We had to pick up a few extra tasks at work, and of course, personal blogging was one of the numerous activities which had to be cut.
But we are feeling much better now!

Alright, I’ve ranted about coffee before, but I have to again.
Maybe this is my impatience typing again, but every day this week I’ve been behind some “non-coffee drinker” co-worker, at the in-house-coffee-place in our cubicle jungle.

A co-worker shared this with me the other day, I though I’d share it with you guys:
The Darth Side: Memoirs of a Monster
Wonderful Star Wars-esque parody.
So far, it chronicles, the Dark Lord’s personal pontifications from The Assult on Dantooine to the final days of the Second Death Star.

You get an epidemic. That’s what.

Why is it, that wherever I go, whatever I do, someone is trying to sell me something I do not want?

The Modernist Papers
It has been awhile since I’ve added an addition to my Modernist Papers. But this recent study by the PEW Research Center has intrigued my political mind.
With all this talk about Neo-Cons, and Progressives, and what not. Its becoming increasingly more difficult to align with anything. (maybe that is part of the design) “No, we’re not Liberals, we’re progressives!”
“No, those aren’t Republicans, they are Neo-Conservatives…”
Whatever.

In a surprise move yesterday, the cubicle jungle passed out free iShuffles to the employees, as a thank you for a job well done.

Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.
Tomorrow marks a change of the times, a change of seasons, in my working life. But I’m already feeling the changes today.
You see, my new department hired a second hand to help me complete the work I’ve been doing on a daily basis.

Clause 2: Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behaviour, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member.
I was watching Fox News Sunday this weekend, and I was irate at the misleading statements of the Minority Whip, Senator Dick Durbin. The discussion was about the Filibuster, and the tactic of the Republicans to use the so-called “nuclear-option” to allow the Senate to force the governing body to actually govern.
Durbin was unmoving that this was a “constitutional issue”, and that this was a “Tradition” and a required “Check and Balance” of the minority.
Well, Senator Durbin, I belive you are mistaken.

I recently saw the new theatrical version of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. I consider myself a Hitchhiker’s aficionado; as I have:
- Read all the books, multiple times
- Listened to the BBC Radio Series
- Read the BBC Radio Scripts
- Watched the Original TV miniseries
… So I’m one who KNOWS about Hitchhikers, and Douglas Adams.
So what did I think of the movie?
One word: Disappointing

How is it that the ACLU wants to smash all Christian icons throughout the United States, but is angered by the “fake but accurate” report of a Koran being dumped into a toilet?
I would think, in an ACLU worldview, that NOT destroying a copy of the Koran would be pushing the religion of Islam on the poor inmates of Gitmo.

Earlier this month, there was a huge media-jihad around some local news. The Arizona Minutemen.
These volunteers, frustrated with the flow of illegal immigrants flowing into Arizona, took their 2nd Ammendments rights and camped in a picketline in one of the high traffic corridors.
I figured, since I live very close to this international excitement, I’d chime in with some observations.

Thus is the end of an era. An era that began on a cold and lonely day in 1977.
The circle is complete.
- Episode I: The Phantom Menace
- Episode II: Attack of the Clones
- Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
- Episode IV: A New Hope
- Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
- Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Ya know, seeing those titles listed there, in order of conception (not Hollywood Release) kind of has a “Saga” feel. (Granted, Episode II’s title could be more saga-like, like “Dawn of the Clone Wars” or something more ominous.) But Episode III did what it needed to do.

Having a website has some strange sideeffects. One of these things is that people take your content and publish them on their own sites (Almost claiming YOUR content for theirs) (And using your bandwidth in the process)
Granted, I’m guilty of this too, but there are some images I’ve been getting mucho hits on, but with no actual visits to my site.
I’ve found a solution:

As Promised, here are my latest findings on the locations and statuses of the mighty-mighty U.S. Navy SuperCarriers.
There are seven carriers in the water, turning their screws. Its an exciting time.
I’m really eager, cause my favorite carrier: CVN-76 is getting prepped for her first major deployment.
Its funny, we have been doing this “Where are the Carriers?” Series for awhile, with this public information. But just recently, The Editors of Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com have been getting quite a bit of additional information from families of our brave seamen and airmen. (These sources wish to remain anonymous) These “tips” are always appreciated.

Its funny, most people would be pretty bummed that most of their Memorial-Day-Weekend was overcast with Rain. Well, here in Tucson, we celebrate it.
In previous years, this is usually a season of Drought. Where we might go 100 or more days without the slightest bit of rain.
But this spring, we’ve gotten much in rain (well, much for a desert)
We’re pretty green. (Well, green for a desert)
