Today, Apple Computer began its life. Steve Jobs and “The Woz” would forever be the folk heroes of the computer age.
And the fables are true, before the Two-headed-Steve, there was no personal computer market. After the Apple, it was a brave new world.
But Progress left Apple behind, as IBM, Oracle, and all the IBM clones ran with the idea. Leaving Apple with just a basket of progressive ideals. (more…)
I FINALLY finished the third, and last of the Bourne Identity Trillogy, with the final Robert Ludlum Book. I thought I would enjoy it, but alas, I did not. It was an okay book, but it took me way too long to read, and in the meantime, my Reading List grew (and I also finished the entire Chronicles of Narnia while I was reading this book.)
Now that the excitement of the beginning of April and the start of the Pagan new year is over, we can return to our normal regular Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com content; and that means Searchy Fun!
For those of you who came in late, these are the top 20 search results used to find Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com via the various Search Engines of the World Wide Web.

IowaHawk is one of my preferred Satire sites. He’s funny, and Smart!
Anyways, now he tackles the Democrats new Security Plan, which has been overshadowed by the Cynthia McKinney Kerfuffle, and the immigration debate.
A taste of the satire:
Don’t worry Nancy – before we redeploy the soldiers out of Iraq, we will pass a tough new assault weapons ban in Iraq to keep these dangerous weapons out of the hands of civil war gangs. We will back it up with a roadside bomb amnesty program, and after-madrassa programs for at-risk insurgent youths.
Or
NANCY: Sure Harry but, whats about the other dangerous of the futures?
HARRY: I’m glad you asked, Nancy. As you know, we need to remain vigilant to ensure Osama bin Laden never obtains rocket-powered wheelchair technology, possibly enabling him to outrun our elite Special Forces pursuit to teams. This is why our plan calls for more spies – like Jack Bauer of the popular TV action program “24″.

WASHINGTON – Vice President Dick Cheney’s former top aide told prosecutors President Bush authorized the leak of sensitive intelligence information about Iraq, according to court papers filed by prosecutors in the CIA leak case.
The filing by Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald also describes Cheney’s involvement in I. Lewis Libby’s communications with the press.
There was no indication in the filing that either Bush or Cheney authorized Libby to disclose Valerie Plame’s CIA identity. But it points to Cheney as one of the originators of the idea that Plame could be used to discredit her husband, Bush administration critic Joseph Wilson.
Wow, the White House is really in hot water here, aren’t they? Cheney told Libby to out Valerie “Double-0 Nothing” Plame?
But wait… what was “leaked”? MSNBC doesn’t really say.

Since Sirius has added Fox News Talk to its line-up (replacing Sirius Right), I’ve been listening to a lot more talk shows for some white noise, while I work.
One complaint I have about ALL these shows is their callers. Everytime they go to the phones, I’m so disappointed in the spectrum of people who call into talk shows. I might even agree with them, but they reduce the signal-to-noise ratio of the airwaves. (more…)
The State of the GOP, 2006 John Fund, after discussing how disgruntled the GOP base may be, has it exactly right: “Republicans have appeared to the world to be as unprincipled and rudderless as the politicians they campaigned against back in 1994. Unless they change course dramatically in the seven months between now and Election Day, they may well find themselves facing the same fate as the Democratic political dinosaurs of that year that they replaced.” I’m disgruntled, too, and I’m going to get it all of my chest this morning: I’ve never voted for a Democrat in a general election in my life, and I don’t expect to anytime soon, but it’s been impossible for me over the past couple of years to get enthused about the Republican party. I voted for President Bush twice, and contributed to his campaign twice, but held my nose when I did it the second time. I don’t consider myself a Republican any longer. Thanks to this Administration and the Republicans in Congress, the Republican Party today is the party of pork-barrel spending, Congressional corruption — and, I know folks on this web site don’t want to hear it, but deep down they know it’s true — foreign and military policy incompetence. Frankly, speaking of incompetence, I think this Administration is the most politically and substantively inept that the nation has had in over a quarter of a century. The good news about it, as far as I’m concerned, is that it’s almost over.

What is it about holidays?
It seems around holidays like Thanksgiving, St. Patrick’s Day, and now Easter, the cycle of Spam-Qaeda erupts again.

Now, for all you with megalomaniac tendencies, you too can aspire to the greatness that only exists in your own depraved mind.
Soaring gas prices are squeezing most Americans at the pump, but at least one man isn’t complaining.
Last year, Exxon made the biggest profit of any company ever, $36 billion, and its retiring chairman appears to be reaping the benefits.
Exxon is giving Lee Raymond one of the most generous retirement packages in history, nearly $400 million, including pension, stock options and other perks, such as a $1 million consulting deal, two years of home security, personal security, a car and driver, and use of a corporate jet for professional purposes.
And of course, Conservatives and Liberals are giving a wary eye to the goings on, when Gas Prices are between two and three dollars a gallon for the Average Joe consumer.
While I hear the Free Marketeers talking about Supply and Demand, I don’t hear enough defense of the Invisible Hand. (more…)

A long time ago, in a reality far far away…
Something unamusing is happening in the internet.
You see, once upon a time, there were these left-wing terrorist thugs protesting something at Santa Cruz, well, they were dumb enough to publish their names and contact information on not only the “Students Against War” website, but some other left wing sites as well. As Michelle Malkin reports.
Well, now that the names appear on Malkin’s site, the privacy freaks get all up in arms, and they are E-mailing “Constructive” remarks to Malkin (Not safe for work, just text, no images)
Anyways, now that people are reporting on this, like Vodka Pundit (mmmm. Vodka!) there is an all out weblog-fight going on. And the line has been drawn at Independent Media (Yeah Right, Independent…) (more…)

I’ve ranted before on how words mean things. I like words, sometimes I make up my own.
Which is why I’m bothered when the media makes the definition of “terrorist” ambiguous with that of words like “Seperatist”, “militant”, and now “Dissident”.
So what is the reason that some in the Press are no longer calling UBL a “Terrorist”, but a “Dissident”?
