Searchy Fun :: November 2006

I thought this was going to be a month without Searchy Fun, as it appeared that my not-so-mighty webhost lost a whole month (and change) of Administrivial Data. But alas, they came through in the end, so now you, the reader, have to sit through another round of it.

For those of you who came in late, these are the top 20 search strings used to find Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com on the various Search Engines of the World Wide Web.

Lets get to checking!

O Holy Night

Filed under: PontificationsJeremy @ 7:23:18 PM

O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour’s birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
O’er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!

1) Your Eagles are on top of the NFC East, again, for the first time.
2) Your Eagles just wooped the Dallas Cowboys (and swept them)
3) Your Eagles are going to the playoffs!
4) Your Eagles have a winning record for the season!

Can you believe it?

Gerald Ford: 1913-2006

Filed under: PontificationsJeremy @ 5:11:04 AM

It was announced this morning, that former President Gerald Ford died, last night, in his home, in California, at the age of 93.

He was the oldest living man who served as President. He was the longest lived President in the history of the nation. He had the second longest post-presidency (the first belonging to Herbert Hoover.)

George H.W. Bush, and Jimmy Carter are currently the 8th, and 9th longest lived presidents, respectively.

But, Gerald Ford’s legacy will forever by shadowed by the events of Watergate, and his presidential pardon of Richard M. Nixon.

All this history from the one man who was never elected to the office.

2006:A Year in Review

But, I need to get into words my feelings about the year of 2006. Before the close of the year.

I didn’t like 2006 at all. As I look back, I’m not fond of very much of it.

Its humbling to think that 2006 was probably the worst year of my life.
