With all this talk of obsolete jobs, there has now been talk of obsolete skills.
I heard about a website on Talk Radio, and the host (John Gibson; Baby Boomer) and producer (Angry Rich; who is my age) were teasing the Call Screener (Christine; who is part of “Generation Y“) about what items on this list she didn’t know anything about:
They should have subtitled it: “You know you are old when…”

Whilst compiling this month’s Searchy Fun, The Editors of Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com were reminded of a quote we read on Brain Fertilizer, which he found on Primordial Slack by Joan of Argghh!:
Just reading the Google search terms on your site meter will deprive you of the last of your innocence.
That may be true, but fortunately the types of strings this statement is talking about don’t usually make it to the monthly Searchy Fun Reports.
For those of you who came in late, these are the top 20 search strings used on various search engines of the World Wide Web to find Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com.
Let’s get to checking!

I’m going to go out on a limb and predict some things. Come November, there is going to be a huge political fight, and I do not believe it will be between Democrats and Republicans.
I believe it will be inside the Republican Party.

Thanks to my Dad, I’ve grown up being a fan of “The Ventures“, a Washington based Surf Guitar band.
I was pleased to see that today The Ventures were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame.

There is an interesting debate going on in the internets regarding a piece of Legislation going on in the Kentucky House of Representatives:
You may recall my Previous Post on the subject of the Google Earth expansion to browse the sky.
Google recently released the Online version of this application:
HAIL!
Yes, it is Sunday, March 16, 2008, and Tucson just had the worst Hailstorm in the memory of The Editors of Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com.
Fortunately, I was aware enough to take some pictures.
Personally, I blame Global Warming…
And the Hops Shortage…

Awhile ago, I plugged a web movie rating service that The Editors of Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com enjoy using:
After rating so many movies, it profiles you and predicts how you will rate additional movies.
In my experience, it is within half a star 19 out of 20 times, and is far better than all other movie rating/ranking systems I’ve found out there (Netflix included)

Once upon a Time, long time web associate Geof Morris published an article about his Uber-Smart iTunes Playlists (I would link to it, but it seems to have vanished from all his many blogs).
Anyways, I borrowed quite a few of them, and added a few of my own.
After swapping iPods with my friends, I’ve noticed a disparity with our playlists. Most people create playlists which are simply glorified sorts or single filters of existing fields in the iTunes Library, like (I want a list of all my Jazz music, or I want a list of all my music from the 1970s.)
But one thing I’ve always appreciated about iTunes, over the other MP3 softwares out there, is their playlist functionality.
(You can stop reading, from here on Cisco… the rest is going to be iPod geek talk)
So, since iPods are now almost as prolific as Cell Phones, I thought I would return the favor to those newer iPod/iTunes users.

No, this is not a cunning plot by The-Evil-Doctor-Merlin-Channing-Lowe-Jr.. (get it? Lowe … Lowes…)
No, something more nefarious!
