Uh oh.
You may remember my previous post on the subjects of the importance of Cheesesteaks in the National Election.
It seems that both Democratic Presidential Candidates have shunned the Cheesesteak in their recent trips to Philadelphia’s Italian Market District.
Philadelphia Daily News: Obama: I’ll try that cheesesteak next time

I was talking with The-Evil-Doctor-Merlin-Channing-Lowe-Jr., this morning, and was talking about a video (Paid for by John McCain’s campaign) which I saw over at Powerline: We’re For the Warmonger:
And I promised I would post it:
Here was a sample of my thought process on my drive back home, tonight:
It started with my listening to my Sirius Radio…

Seems Senator Obama made a not-so-slight-gaffe last week, in San Fransisco, and it has only made the news today.
Obama Explains Why Some Small Town Pennsylvanians Are “Bitter”
This was Barak Obama’s candid answer to an unknown question:
“You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them,” Obama said. “And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
I just upgraded Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com to the latest WordPress 2.5 release. This is a “version” change, so please point out any anomalies you might see.

Last night, some of my friends and I and went to see the famous Rhythm & Blues/Soul band of Booker T. and the MG’s, as they came to Centenial Hall here at the University of Arizona.
As you might know, I have a fondness for this historic group, as they were the flagship of something called the Stax/Volt Movement. Later, they would be instrumental in forming the foundation of the Rhythm and Blues Review Band you know as “The Blues Brothers”.

Power outage affects thousands in Tucson
Half the city seemed shut down late this morning, as Thirty-Five-Thousand People were without power around 10:30 AM local time.

At Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com we love Earth Day. It gives us an excuse to burn fossil fuels and perhaps consume large portions of the precious and delicious animal population.
Or perhaps celebrate the largest carbon emitting vehicle out there (at least in the Military): The U.S.S. Kitty Hawk.
Or perhaps punch a horse:
Some Previous Earth Day Articles:
Chad, over at The Pirate King wrote the following article in my direction. (I think it was to celebrate the Pennsylvania Primary Election, yesterday.) I was tickled to read it, and had to post it here.
Warning: Cisco, this is going to be more of that Philly Stockholm Syndrome.

Two Days after the Pennsylvania Challenge, Barack Obama has lost another Big State to Hillary Diane Clinton. Some pundits are scratching their heads with concern, as the Obama Campaign had more money, press, and good will going into Pennsylvania, but lost by what appears to be 10% of the vote.
With all those advantages, how did he lose?
It got me to thinking, especially listening to his comments after his miserable showing at the ABC Philadelphia Debate. His attitude and comments are suggestive of a man who wants this to be over. In setting an expectation that Hillary needs to set aside, because he has won this thing. He’s tired of media pressing him with questions, he’s tired of the photo ops, tired of the debates, tired of more primaries and caucuses.
“Won” being an unfamiliar term, its like watching a football team cease to play in the late third quarter when they have the lead. There is still 25% of the game to play, you have not won yet, and the other team is rallying, and diminishing your lead.
That is what Obama looks to be doing, coasting to the finish line. At least, he wants to.
It is my opinion, that this is what Obama is used to in his political career.

I’m noticing a weird new trend in my not-so-daily blogging career.
It seems, that just minutes, or hours after I post, I get at least one pingback or trackback from some strange “robot site”.
Usually these sites have a theme, like Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama, or hemroids, and they link with the phrase, “Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com has an interesting post: [Insert Article Title]
[Then an incomplete excerpt]”

As some of you know, at least twice a week I perform something we jokingly call the “DeathMarch” It is a “Nature” walking path up a small mountain called Tumamoc Hill. It is a rather easy climb, for a mountain climber. But for a walking person it is a great cardiovascular workout. As there is a 730 ft. elevation change in all of 1.55 miles. That is an average ratio of 11.2 feet horizontal to 1 foot vertical. (Though, most of the elevation change happens in the last half of the hike)
Anyways, a group of us have been doing this Deathmarch for over half a year now, and we’re getting pretty good at it. (Though, now it is warming up in the desert, and as you can see from the pictures below, there is a lot of dust and pollen in the air {Its Palo Verde Season, and the trees are blooming} which makes breathing a little difficult.)
But tonight, I took my camera along and captured a few pictures for your viewing enjoyment. Today skies were clear with an air temperature of about 90 degrees.
