I heard this on my news radio, this morning, that Arizona Senator, John McCain made a campaign stop in my hometown of Perkasie, Pennsylvania.

Which now marks the closest a Presidential Candidate has been to my house.

Worse than Four Years ago

From the "Don't-Drink-and-Vote" Department

Four Years ago, I retold the diabolical tale of my disenfranchisement by The-Evil-Doctor-Merlin-Channing-Lowe-Jr.

I knew this election was important, so I made every effort to thwart Dr. Chan’s obvious attempts to nullify my right to vote.

It was not pretty.

Post Election Pledge

Filed under: PontificationsJeremy @ 12:01:38 AM
From the "The-Price-of-Hope, is-Change" Department

I said it before, and I’ll say it again:

I promise to… Support the President, even if I didn’t vote for him… Criticize the President, even if I did vote for him… Uphold standards of civilized discourse in blogs and in media while pushing both to be better… Unite as a nation, putting country over party, as we work together to make America better.

And you , the reader, can hold me to this.

Just over Four Years ago, Barack Obama was a nameless State Senator in the city of Chicago.

Today, he is President-Elect of the United States of America, and in less than two months he will be leader of the Free World.

That is saying something.

From the "I-see-the-Local-Rotary-Club, on-their-latest-funding-drive, and-Carlos, the-international-terror- ... CARLOS!" Department

Folks who have known me a long time, know of my almost-disturbing fascination with Carlos the Jackal. Thanks to several events in my youth, including A Figure Skating Scandal.

Yes, Figure Skating.

But really, the start of it all was a Late Night Radio Shock Jock Talk Show I was listening to in my Post-High School, Pre-College days. On 94.1 WYSP (which was a great Classic Rock station before Howard Stern’s Infinity Broadcasting got its stinkin’ mits on it and brought in guys like Jon DeBella to just ruin a perfectly good radio format.)

    Chedda n. Ched-dah
    1. Slang for Government Cheese, made popular in Post-Depression Era Economics
    2. Government Money, specifically in the form of welfare dollars, or bailouts, or anything tax-free and involves free cash money.

The Editors of Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com would like to petition the United States Congress and the United States Treasury Department:

Book Review: The Far Side of the World

Filed under: Books,ReviewsJeremy @ 11:04:37 PM Tags:

I just crossed Patrick O’Brian’s The Far Side of the World off of the Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com Reading List.

This is a personal milestone for me, as I started to read the Aubrey-Maturin Series after the movie, Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World; not only is this book the namesake of the movie, it is also the mid-point of the novel series. And as I hoped, it kept up with the same action we saw in the previous novel.

Here is a very interesting little conundrum, for you Constitutional Scholars out there:

This would also apply to Rahm Emmanuel; White House Chief of Staff.
