Tony Snow Watch: First Press Conference
Tony Snow stepped up to the press room for the first time as Press Secretary today:
Hot Air has footage from FOX where he banters with Helen Thomas, and a clip of a more personal question.
Just listening to him, it sounded like he was behind the mic of the Tony Snow show.
I observed he had to frame his language a bit (Probably some buzzword lingo from the Communications Team) (Survelance vs. Intelligence Gathering)
From the clip (I wish there was more) it’s the kind of “attitude” I’ve always wanted to see from the Press Secretary.

mystery to me why press secretarys aren’t more willing to up the ante in a Q&A. Old farts have been waiting for this for years and younger people admire something called “keeping it real”, so, as long as they’re polite, there’s nothing to lose.

Like what the President said in his first campaign in 2000: someone caught him and Dick Chaney talking privately about a democrat. The President stated that they were the southern orifice of a north facing person. When the press tried to pin him down he simply said “maybe it’s time we had some plain spoken folk in the White House”.
