The Wrong Stuff
NASA Astronaut Lisa Nowak in bizarre Space Love Triangle
CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida — A NASA astronaut earlier ordered released on bail Tuesday after being slapped with attempted kidnapping charges later was charged with attempted first-degree murder.
What do you get when you mix two astronauts, and a Space Shuttle Pilot?
(Apparently, a plot for a really bad sci-fi romance novel)
This kind of stuff makes the UFO obsessed Gordon Cooper seem almost normal.
I find it amusing that Nowak was released on bail, but the Florida court then added more charges and this time kept her in prison. When I first heard this, I asked myself, “Is it because she is a major flight risk?”

I’ll be here all week folks, and tip your waitress.
But seriously, she’s going into space on March 15th
Nowak is scheduled to be a capcom — capsule communicator — on the next space shuttle mission, STS 117, which is targeted for a March 15 launch date.
And talk about a space cadet:
Police say that Nowak left Houston and drove 900 miles to the Orlando Airport, reportedly stopping only for gas and wearing adult diapers so she wouldn’t have to stop to urinate.
At the airport, she waited for the return flight of Air Force Capt. Colleen Shipman, who she believed was her rival for Oefelein’s affections.
Nowak wore a trench coat and a wig to disguise herself, and carried pepper spray and a BB gun. She trailed Shipman to her car and attempted to enter the car, but Shipman drove to a parking lot booth and called the police.
Orange County Judge Mike Murphy had earlier said Nowak could be released on $15,500 bond provided she stay away from the other woman and wear a monitoring device.
Does a low jack work in orbit?

Seriously folks, try the veal.

But Capcom doesn’t go into space… they just talk into space. :)
