Iced Cream?
I’m depressed.
While I’m not an ice cream fanatic, I did fall in love with a particular flavor of Ice Cream.
Ben & Jerry’s Black and Tan flavor.
It had everything.
Tasty adult beverage reference
Controversy [Since removed, see below, -ed]
And dang did it taste good.
And Who knew Ice Cream people needed a Brewmeister?
Cisco introduced me to this flavor over a Two-Headed-Monster, and I scoured Tucson for it.
I was finally able to find it at a semi-nearby Fry’s, then my local Safeway. But now, its no-where to be found. I was distraught.
But I look online, and the flavor is still in town, but on The wrong side of town.
I’ll have to take a road trip, I think.

From the May 9, 2007 archive:
Black & Tan naming controversy
In March 2006, Ben & Jerry’s released Black & Tan, an ice cream flavor based on the Black and Tan “cream stout” drink, made from chocolate ice cream and non-alcoholic stout extract. With the packaging peeled off, the ice cream resembles a “pint” of beer.
The name is controversial as the Black and Tans were (not exclusively) former British soldiers deployed as a secondary police force wearing uniforms of khaki and black in Ireland during the War of Independence after 1918 to assist the Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) in their work. Once there, they participated in a number of atrocities (including the burning of the centre of the city of Cork). However, the name for the drink was first used in 1889, and predated these political events.[citation needed]
On April 21, 2006, the company apologized for using the “Black & Tan” flavor name on its ice cream. A Ben & Jerry’s spokesman was quoted as saying, “Any reference on our part to the British Army unit was absolutely unintentional and no ill-will was ever intended.”

Jeremy, do you realize that the first Albertson’s that’s in that link is about a block north of Frankie’s? You could swing up there when you get your cheesesteak fix.

Lies!
My spies tell me that no such flavor exists there. (At least not today)
But no worries, Growler, the B&J Website is also wrong.
