Merry Christmas

I saw this geek joke one year. And I never wanted to forget it.

Why do geeks confused Halloween and Christmas?

Because Oct31 equals Dec25.

Get it?

31 in Octal, is the same as the Decimal number 25. Or oct(31) = dec(25)
Octal is a base 8 operating system, ergo: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,20… so 10 = dec8, and 11 = dec9.

It isn’t as funny as burning a Log-Base-10.

It is funny, because it is smart.
