Headlines That Should Not Be
I saw this in yesterdays Best of the Web Today, and after a lively dissertation on the Virginia Earthquake, and Hurricane Irene, the author, James Taranto, pointed out the following headline in the “Too Much Information” topic:
Will Gay Marriage Turn Anthony Weiner’s Seat Red?
While the article is a shorter blurb than this JGdotcom article talking about it, and the article really isn’t about Anthony Weiner at all; I think this was a lame attempt of the NRO author to offer something titillating.
Well, it got The Editors of Jeremy Gilby dot com to read it.
Also, check out higher in the Taranto post:
“Except as noted” may be the new “fake but accurate.”
And lower, in the Breaking News from 2012 department:
“S&P Replaces President After U.S. Downgrade“–headline, Reuters, Aug. 23
Go read the whole thing.
And yes, this was a lame attempt to post SOMETHING in the month of August.

Do the needful, Jer!
