A Delightful Alternative to 404 Not Found
Having a website has some strange sideeffects. One of these things is that people take your content and publish them on their own sites (Almost claiming YOUR content for theirs) (And using your bandwidth in the process)
Granted, I’m guilty of this too, but there are some images I’ve been getting mucho hits on, but with no actual visits to my site.
I’ve found a solution:
After I identify a popular picture which some people (like these sportsforum boards are exploiting) I just do a little renaming and blam, those servers are presented with a new image:

FREE MARKETING!!
Of course, the actual image will be larger.
For example, check out this unsuspecting Car Talk Forum.
FREE MARKETING!
Is that bad of me? Or is this just a danger of direct linking to Jeremy-Gilby-dot-com?
I might even design personalized images for those sites which I can identify.

F*** hotlinkers.
